Ryokan |
 |
|
Ryokan is a Japanese
traditional style of accommodation. It is uniquely Japanese and
offers the kind of services that western style hotels usually
do not offer. Rokan has various specialties such as Japanese rooms
with Tatami (straw mats), large public bath tubs and authentic
Japanese meals served in guest rooms. When in Japan, be sure to
experience and enjoy this classic Japanese hospitality.

Ryokan can vary from traditional wooden structures to modern ones
that may look like large hotels from the outside.
They range in size from the very large to very small.
Many ryokan in popular tourist areas have complete convention,
banquet, restaurants, and shopping facilities.
Japan Ryokan Association members - those who are listed as Government-registered
ryokans - must meet a host of regulations before becoming members.
By law (The International Tourist Accommodations Law of 1949),
member ryokan must provide safe, comfortable rooms that meet regulations
for cultural aesthetics, privacy, and hygiene.
Large of small, the warm welcome by a kimono-clad mistress or
staff will tell you that you are in for a treat.

A warm welcome of " irrasshaimase " initiates
you - the honored guest - into the world of the Japanese-style
inn.
After checking in, you will be guided to your room by a hostess
who will continue to look after your every need during your stay.
At the entrance of your room, you remove your shoes and enter
your room.
